Barcarolle n° 6 Opus 37
(P.I. Tchaikowsky, arr. A. Crepin)
Tchaikowsky was born in Kamsko-Votkinsk on May 7, 1840.
A Russian on the European model, he was brimming with life yet profoundly melancholy, at once a nationalist and an individualist, passionate and grandiloquent; all these qualities nourish the very essence of his interiorised melodies and rich orchestrations. The Barcarolle n° 6 Opus 37, is one of twelve sketches drawn from his work The Seasons.
The arrangement for brass & wind orchestra was the work of Commander A. Crepin.
